Acceptable Use Policy
The SierraDeals services, including its website (collectively, “Services”), allow you to discover and share coupons, deals, advertisements, and other offers. We also work with merchants, advertisers, and other partners whose coupons, deals, advertisements, and other offers may be displayed on the Services. As a user of the Services, you may post or otherwise make available on the Services offers, comments, links, messages, and other material (such content together with our partners’ content, “User Content”).
We value the positive contributions that our users make to our community. We’ve created this Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) to provide you with guidelines on appropriate use of the Services, so that all users can have a great experience here.

In the event of a conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service governs.
1. Usernames and Personal Information
While SierraDeals does not prohibit the use of nicknames for your account username, we urge you to avoid offensive or inappropriate choices. If you select a username that we deem obscene, indecent, abusive, or potentially damaging to our reputation, we reserve the right to change your username, remove your posts, deny access to our Services, or any combination of these actions, with or without notice. We advise keeping profile images and avatars within PG-13 guidelines. Do not impersonate others, including SierraDeals staff or community moderators, and avoid posting messages under someone else's name.
2. Topics of Discussion
Our online discussions encourage a wide range of opinions, but please keep your posts focused on the specific topic of the forum or deal thread in which you are participating. Each forum or deal thread has its own theme, and what may be appropriate in one context might not be suitable in another.
3. Inappropriate Language
Please refrain from using inappropriate or offensive language. This includes, but is not limited to, language or content that is sexually explicit, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, or hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable material. We ask that you remain considerate of other users in your communications.
4. Harassment and Flaming
Please do not harass or “flame” other users. This includes posting or transmitting any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind. This also encompasses any material which encourages conduct that would harm others, violate the rights of others, or breach any applicable law. Note that this includes the posting of taunts (trolling) in a deal thread or forum solely for the purpose of deriding that deal thread’s or forum’s topic and/or users.
5. Piracy or Unlawful Activities
Our Services are intended for deal talk, ideas, and constructive participation, not for violating laws or discussing illegal activities. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to, advocating or seeking information about software piracy, unauthorized emulators of software or hardware, and sharing or distributing viruses, licenses, registration information, software keys, “cracks”, or other information intended to harm or allow unlawful access to computer hardware, software, networks, or any other systems. Please avoid posting such messages.
6. Other General Rules of Conduct
Please do not post any User Content which (a) is libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, harassing, or threatening, (b) contains viruses or other harmful components, (c) infringes on the rights of others, including copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret infringements, or privacy/publicity rights violations, (d) violates any applicable law, (e) breaches any standards or policies on our Services, or (f) links to inappropriate external sites. Unless SierraDeals has a commercial partnership with you, do not use our Services for commercial purposes, advertising, solicitation, or to solicit users to join other services. Do not misrepresent or inaccurately tag User Content, or disguise its source or origin. Additionally, do not use the Services to collect personal information from other users without their consent.
7. Banning of Users
SierraDeals reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to any part of our Services for any reason, including violation of this Policy. Anyone who violates our policies may face future bans under any username.
8. Managing User Content
You are solely responsible for all content you post on our Services. SierraDeals has the right, but not the obligation, to correct any errors or omissions in User Content. SierraDeals also reserves the right to delete or remove any User Content. For more information on how SierraDeals may use User Content, please see our Terms of Service. Please do not discuss or question the removal of your posts or threads publicly. If you have concerns, contact a moderator or Community Manager directly.
9. Fake Reviews and Votes
Do not post reviews or votes that are not based on the merit of the deal, or that are solicited, automated, fraudulent, or retaliatory. Do not misuse the reputation system for inappropriate reasons.
10. Compensation for User Content
Users should not seek or accept compensation for posting User Content or use their SierraDeals accounts for self-promotion or distribution of referral links. Generally, do not offer to buy or sell anything from other users. If you're a merchant looking to feature a deal on SierraDeals, please contact our Business Development team.
11. Competitive Sites
Do not mention or link to competitive sites or any sites that SierraDeals deems prohibited. Refrain from posting such sites or including them in deal contexts or your signature.
12. Additional Forum-Specific Rules
Community forum rules can be found [here]. Be aware that each forum may have specific rules. For instance, posts of scanned or photographed manufacturer coupons are generally not allowed. In case of any conflict, this Policy prevails over forum-specific rules.
13. Additional Notices
Permissions to view and/or use the Services are subject to change without notice.
It is impossible to cover every situation with a rule. Our moderators will make judgment calls as needed.
